Bringing the freedom of the great outdoors to the indoors of their UK headquarters was the challenge that international landscape / exterior architects Cracknell Ferns put to Staverton when the two came together at Design Prima 2006.
And like all good challenges, Staverton’s design team rose to it with relish.
Director Colin Ferns wanted to invest in a range of furniture that could both cater for their rapid internal expansion and provide their team with an interior landscape that matched the quality and high standard that they themselves provide when designing exterior architecture.
As interior workplace specialists, Staverton understood that the atmosphere required to nourish the constant flow of ideas inherent to Cracknell’s business couldn’t be compromised by the equally important need for space maximisation.
By taking inspiration from the company’s fresh, uncluttered green and white corporate logo, Staverton provided user specific benching using its Twin Trestle Leg frame option. The same height adjustable leg frame was also used to provide standing height layout tables as well as large management desking.
Single trestle legs were employed to create a complete desking solution over the whole office. The use of the twin and single leg also enables Cracknell to easily reconfigure the product in the future to accommodate their growing UK team. This philosophy of total structural freedom is illustrated in what Staverton call Product Life Cycle.

Simple Staverton screen panels have been used to separate working positions above desk and provide modesty below desk height. At 55mm wide, systems track mounted and framed with an anodised silver aluminium trim, the translucent acrylic panel screens are the perfect adjunct to the benching.

As the gateway to this space, the reception area had to reflect Cracknell Ferns’ twin aims of high style and easy informality instantly. The Edge range of soft seating was chosen to meet both of these objectives by providing a comfortable yet stylish waiting / informal meeting space for both visitors and staff.
